Whitestar Rams Tournament Success Beverley
Whitestar Rams returned home from the 6th annual Sproatley
Football 6’s competition as worthy winners of the NFU U12 trophy. The
team won the day thanks to a 100% record and not conceding a single
goal. In game one Rams
played out a nil nil draw against Westella & Willerby.
In an edgy game Jake Holmes was unlucky not to score from long
range. In game 2 Bottesford
Intech from Rams
headed their group and took on Scholes Park Raiders from And
so to the final were Rams took on East Hull Boys whom knocked Beverley
out at the Semis in 2010. Beverley
were solid and with great defensive cover from captain Will Harrison and
a commanding performance from the keeper a single goal from Tom Bruce
was enough for Beverley to be crowned champions. Team
from; Lewis Richardson, Joe Hird, Will Harrison, Joe Wilson, Tom Bruce,
Nick Moody, Jake Holmes and Dan Baillie. |

Costello
Dragons v Beverley Whitestar Rams. Beverley
Whitestar Rams had set an early season target to improve on last seasons
finish in the Myton league and with a win in the final game of the
season three points could elevate them to a 3rd spot finish
therefore the game meant everything to each player in the squad.
Beverley started the game well passing the ball around the field
and generally keeping possession. In
an early move Beverley’s Joe Wilson and Ollie Baldwin combined well to
set free Dan Baillie, his shot came back off the post but this was
enough to spare on the team. Beverley
pressed and eventually they opened the scoring when Baillie found
himself free on goal after great play from James Weldon and Tom Bruce.
Beverley made it two when Baillie curled home a shot from the edge of
the box following a great interchange from Ollie Baldwin and Joe Wilson.
In the second half Costello had a great spell and pressured
Beverley, Costello were unlucky not to score when the striker found
himself one on one with the keeper only for Lewis Richardson to pull off
a great save. Costello then
scored from close range when the striker controlled a good cross.
Beverley regained their 2 goal cushion when Ollie Baldwin
finished low into the net following a great run.
Costello replied almost from the kick-off to make it 3-2 but with
5 minutes of the game left Beverley steadied their ship when a super
midfield ball from James Busby found striker Baillie on hand to net his
hat-trick. Beverley then
defended with Centre backs Joe Hird, Will Harrison and Nick Moody solid
for Beverley to hang on to a 4 – 2 victory and seal that all important
3rd spot in the league. Beverley

Beverley
Whitestar Rams v Hessle Rangers (Myton U12) This
was a close tussle with both teams showing plenty of commitment to gain
a high league finish. The
pitch was hard from the unusual baking weather and this sapped the
energy of both teams. Hessle
coped better with the high bouncing ball and capitalized when an
up-field ball allowed the striker to spring the off-side trap and volley
home for 1 nil. Beverley
then had to defend as Hessle attacked in waves.
Beverley Goal Keeper Lewis Richardson was on hand to save his
team on a number of occasions. In
defence for Beverley Will Harrison and Joe Hird had terrific games a
piece and swept up Hessle attacks well.
In the second half Tom Bruce and Ben Hearfield combined well on
the flanks for Beverley and created chances.
Dan Baillie was on hand for Beverley deep in the second half to
finish from the edge of the box to give Beverley a well deserved
equaliser. Beverley turned
the screw in search of the winner but Hessle defended well and in the
end both teams settled for the draw.
Final score 1 – 1. Beverley

Westella
& Willerby v Beverley Whitestar Rams Beverley
Whitestar took on Westella and Willerby in a very tough Myton league
game. The first half was a
midfield battle on a very hard pitch with very few chances.
Beverley's central midfielders Jake Holmes and James Busby fought
for every ball. Westella had
the first chance when they broke the off side trap only for the striker
to blaze over. Beverley had
a couple of half chances with Oli Baldwin and Dan Baillie working well
up front. Beverley's keeper
Lewis Richardson was then called into action with a great double save to
keep the scores level. In
the second half Westella took the game to Beverley who couldn't get out
of there own half. Ten
minutes into the half Beverley broke the deadlock against the run of
play when Jake Holmes played a long ball up field and Dan Baillie was
first to react and lobbed the keeper from the edge of the box. Beverley
came into the game more after the goal and started passing the ball
well. Late in the game Beverley's
keeper made another double save to keep his team in the lead.
Great determination from Beverley's defenders made sure they kept
a clean sheet and won the game 1-0. Goals:

Beverley
Whitestar Rams v Costello Dragons Rams
came to this game off the back of two losses on the spin.
The team had prepared for the game by a team training session at
the beach on the day before. This
appeared to have done the trick for team confidence.
The team’s determination not to make this a third was evident
as Beverley won the most of the opening twenty minutes.
Beverley took an early lead when a fine move involving Nick Moody
and James Busby allowed Dan Baillie to nick one just in front of the
keeper. Costello regained
their composure. For the closing period of the first half Costello were
well on top. From a good
pass the striker cut in front of the keeper and drilled home to
equalize. In the second half
good work for Beverley from Jake Holmes and Joe Wilson put Baillie
through one on one with the keeper Rhys Gadd followed up and scored his
first goal to put Beverley 2 – 1 ahead.
Goal of the day went to Costello when a loose ball was picked up
from the outside of the box and volleyed back to pick the spot in the
top corner to level the game. Beverley
then enjoyed a good spell of possession and a rejuvenated Tom Bruce
created chances from the wing. Ben
Hearfield was unlucky not to score.
Dan Baillie grabbed two late goals for Beverley to leave the
score 4 – 2. Beverley

DCSI
Leopards v Beverley Whitestar Rams (Myton U12) DCSI
put on a terrific team performance to take all three points against a
flat Beverley Whitestar Rams. The
game was won in the first half with DCSI taking control of the game
being first to every ball and using the aerial ball to their advantage.
Beverley had an early warning and when a midfield ball failed to be
closed down a great lob was punched off the cross bar by the Rams
keeper. DCSI scored when a
loose ball was drilled home from the outside of the area.
DCSI then kept possession of the ball well and stifled any
opportunity Beverley created. In
the second half DCSI doubled their lead following a goal mouth scramble
that saw the ball twice come off the post.
Beverley rallied and Ollie Baldwin scored a lovely goal to put
his team back in the game. DCSI
pushed on and soon had a third when a ball was punched home at close
range. Beverley fort back

Beverley
Whitestar Rams V Sproatley Juniors (Myton U12) Sproatley
took the game to Beverley and for the opening twenty minutes Sproatley
looked the most likely to score using the wide pitch to their advantage.
Beverley had some strong chances but a well organised back four
for Sproatley pushed the Beverley attack into mistakes and twice they
were court offside. Beverley
added James Busby and he was able to bring more composure to the
passing, from an angled forward pass by Busby he found Ollie Baldwin who
controlled well and lobbed the ball over the advancing keeper to open
the scoring. Dan Baillie
then added a second for Beverley when he latched onto a forward ball
from Ben Hearfield to round the keeper and score.
In goal for Sproatley Alex Dale was terrific and he pulled off a
string of fine saves to keep Sproatley in the game.
In the second half good work from Joe Wilson and James Mooney
allowed Baillie in for his second. Baillie
had his hat trick with a low drive from the edge of the penalty box.
Beverley then had their defence to thank as Sproatley turned the
screw in search of a goal, centre backs Dale Dennett and Joe Hird worked
well, at right back Jake Holmes had a super game often getting the ball
forward turning attack into defence.
Beverley’s man of the match was Captain Will Harrison who
worked hard all game in the defence.
Sproatley got their reward for hard work following a goal mouth
scramble. Final score 4 –

Skirlaugh
v Beverley Whitestar Rams Smashing, Super, Lovely Couple (of Goals!) Beverley
Whitestar continued their good league form taking a fine win off a
strong Skirlaugh. The game
was well balanced and this ensured an entertaining and competitive
match. Skirlaugh created the
better chances early in the game with Beverley twice clearing from their
goal line. Beverley played
everything wide and capitalized with excellent running from Ben
Hearfield and Tom Bruce. Skirlaugh
on the other hand were strong in the midfield.
Half time 0 – 0. In
the second half Beverley started strongly with centre forwards Ollie
Baldwin and Dan Baillie were served up some good chances from James
Weldon and Joe Wilson. Skirlaugh
won a couple of corners and piled the pressure on Beverley.
In defence for Beverley Joe Hird and Dale Dennett worked hard to
combat any Skirlaugh attack, they were helped by Jake Holmes and Will
Harrison. Beverley had a
good spell and when a good ball was pushed to Dan Baillie he struck a
great goal to put Beverley into the lead.
Skirlaugh replied and were unlucky not to benefit from a few
loose balls, Beverley goal keeper Lewis Richardson was in the thick of
the action. Beverley doubled
their lead when Ollie Baldwin scored an almost mirror image goal of the
first. Beverley had to
defend further but hung out for a clean sheet and a two nil victory. Team

Beverley
Whitestar Rams v Bridlington Rangers Weldon The Catalyst to Fine Beverley Win Despite
a heavy pitch both teams played a very entertaining first half.
Some silky passing skills from Beverley’s Joe Wilson and James
Busby settled Beverley into the game.
Both teams battled well for the ball in midfield.
Beverley’s Tom Bruce got his team off to a flyer when he
connected to a loose ball and sent in a cracking goal.
A second followed shortly after when Dan Baillie worked well with
Ben Hearfield to play a great cross which ricocheted in.
Nick Moody added a third for Beverley with a super strike from
the edge of the penalty area. Bridlington
rallied and took the game to Beverley.
For Bridlington Jacob Prince began to trouble the Beverley
defence and he soon gained a reward for his hard work.
Half time 3 – 1 to Beverley.
In the second half Bridlington started strongly, for Beverley
Will Harrison and Dale Dennett had to work hard in the heart of the
defence. Bridlington scored
when a loose ball was hit in by the Beverley defender.
Beverley were then on the back foot but steadied after the
introduction of James Weldon. His
calm play and good passing played the advantage back to Beverley.
Weldon was then on the score sheet mopping up a ball in the
penalty box and scoring past a stranded keeper, he then added his second
with a gem of a long shot. Beverley
were able to debut new defender Reece Gadd who was soon in the thick of
the game. Bridlington gained
a goal back but in the closing stages Rams Dan Baillie added two fine
strikers goals to leave the final score 7 – 3 to Beverley Beverley

Driffield
Tigers v Beverley Whitestar Rams Myton U12 Beverley
recorded a three nil victory over Driffield but were made to work very
hard for their win. In the
first half Beverley had limited chances, Tom Bruce and James Mooney
provided some great crosses for the centre forward pair of Dan Baillie
and Ollie Baldwin to work from. Unfortunately
for Beverley they were unable to capitalize and it was Driffield who
tested the Rams keeper Lewis Richardson from two good corners.
Beverley centre backs Dale Dennett and Joe Hird swept up and both
had commanding performances to provide a solid defence for their team.
In the second half Nick Moody and Jake Holmes worked well for
Beverley and with centre midfield James Busby they began to make
progress. Beverley scored
when Joe Hird latched onto a corner ball and diverted the ball into the
corner of the net. Beverley
doubled their advantage after good work by Will Harrison gave Dan
Baillie a chance that he smashed home.
Driffield defended well and the Driffield keeper was at his best

Beverley
Whitestar Rams v Skirlaugh U12 Cup S/Final A
pulsating and very entertaining game of football was played by Beverley
and Skirlaugh to decide who went to the cup final.
Both teams played the first half at such pace that the half time
whistle came as a surprise to everyone.
Both teams played well in midfield and were strong in defence.
Both keepers were well defended but when called on both had
important saves to keep their respective teams in the game.
Half time was 0 – 0. In
the second half Skirlaugh were allowed some freedom in midfield and
began to benefit from being first to every loose ball.
At 15 minutes into the second half Beverley were undone when a
high kicked ball sneaked in to the corner of the Beverley goal.
Skirlaugh then went on the offensive with confidence, encouraged
by their first goal. Beverley
defended well with Will Harrison and Jake Holmes playing well for
Beverley. Beverley rallied
and created chances from the wing with Joe Wilson going close to
equalizing from a Dale Dennett cross.
As the game drew to a close another high ball was served toward
the Beverley goal and as the loose ball bounced it fell to the feet of
the Skirlaugh forward who put the game out of reach of Beverley.

Bridlington Rangers Chiefs v
Beverley Whitestar Rams U12 K/O Cup Qrt-Final Rams
Edge into Cup Semi Final A
Dan Baillie hat trick for Beverley Rams edged them into the semi-final
of the knock out cup but only after a titanic game with hosts
Bridlington. This game was
originally due to be played on 21st Nov but the bad weather
had until now put pay to any chance of the game taking place.
Both teams looked rusty after such a long break and heavy pitch
sapped the energy of the players. The
high ball swirled around in a vicious wind giving both defences trouble
from any high ball. Beverley
opened the scoring when Ben Hearfield was set through on goal his tame
shot deceived the keeper as it bobbled over the line.
Beverley then defended well as Bridlington attacked.
A Beverley back four of Dale Dennett, Joe Hird, Will Harrison and
Nick Moody had plenty to do to keep out a lively Bridlington.
Close to half time Bridlington leveled when a loose ball was well
sent home passed a stranded keeper.
In the second half both teams battled well, Beverley’s Jake
Holmes and Tom Bruce had plenty of action in the midfield.
Bridlington had chances and an excellent ball into the box was
tipped onto the cross bar by Rams keeper Lewis Richardson.
Bridlington took the lead from an excellent headed goal from a
corner kick and then defended well until near to the end when Dan
Baillie popped up to rescue the game for Beverley.
The extra time was just as captivating as the main game as
Baillie scored early for Beverley from a good ball by James Busby.
Bridlington were then strong and equalized close on the end of
the first half of extra time. In
the second phase Beverley used the wing well and James Mooney made some
good runs. Baillie grabbed
his hat-trick when he found himself in plenty of room.
Bridlington battled until the final whistle but Beverley held
firm to edge into the next round. Final

Beverley
Whitestar Rams v Skirlaugh U12 Myton A
competitive and entertaining game provided a 2 – 2 draw for Beverley
and Skirlaugh. The game was
played at Leconfield Recreation Ground the new home for Beverley
Whitestar Rams. A good pitch
allowed both teams the opportunity to pass the ball.
Beverley started well and following a series of moves they were
unlucky not to take the lead when a strike hit the post.
Skirlaugh soaked up the pressure and then began to play good
football. From a wide break
the ball was drilled home at an angle for one nil.
Skirlaugh then doubled their lead when a loose ball was expertly
chipped over the keeper. Beverley
regained composure and from a Ben Hearfield cross ball Dan Baillie
turned and finished into the net. Into
the second half Skirlaugh turned the screw and had the better
opportunities. Beverley won
a corner and this was taken by Dale Dennett and Ollie Baldwin rose well
to send the ball into the net to level the game.
Beverley then had to defend as Skirlaugh through everything at
them looking for the win. A
number of goalmouth scrambles deep in the game saw Beverley keeper Lewis
Richardson rise to the challenge and save his team.
In the finishing moments Tom Bruce broke down the wing for
Beverley and nearly won the tie when his shot hit the post.

Westella

Whitestar Rams lost their unbeaten run loosing two nil to Westella
Juniors in a close and competitive game played at excellent facilities.
In the first half neither team could break the other down and
both teams had chances. In
both cases a good defence was at the centre of clean sheets for either
team. In the second phase
Westella started strongly and made impressive ground from the back four.
When required the Westella centre back pairing coped well with
any Beverley threat and created chances for their forward line.
A high shot from the wing, well aimed for danger dipped down over
the Beverley keeper to give Westella the lead.
Beverley re-gained composure and created chances, from another
deep ball from midfield the Beverley keeper dealt well with the ball but
the loose ball was turned in from an acute angle from good following up.
Beverley created more chances from the wing but could not break

Sproatley
Juniors v Beverley Whitestar Rams U12 Cup This
was a 10 out of 10 entertaining game from both sides.
The game was evenly matched and the similar ability of both teams
was evident in the early stages as attractive passing football ensued.
Sproatley’s used of the wide pitch to their advantage and
created chances from deep crosses. Beverley
keeper Lewis Richardson was on fine form and dealt well with the high
balls and distributed well to his midfield of James Busby, Tom Bruce,
Joe Wilson and Dale Dennett. Beverley
created chances and both Joe Wilson and Joe Hird went close.
Sproatley were well defended and keeper Alex Dale showed great
quality to deal with the pressure. Beverley
got heir break when James Busby seized a ball at the edge of the area
and sent a high ball over the keeper for one nil.
Dan Baillie then doubled their advantage with a well taken goal.
Beverley began to build the ball well and use the wings from full
backs James Mooney and James Weldon.
Sproatley created chances down the centre of the pitch but Will
Harrison for Beverley commanded his back line well.
From a short corner Beverley’s Dale Dennett set up Ollie
Baldwin and he finished well to put Beverley 3 up.
After the break Beverley added Nick Mooney and Jake Holmes and
were then able to gain an even stronger foothold in the game.

Beverley
Whitestar Rams v Driffield Tigers Myton U12 This was a game of two halves played in poor weather conditions. Both Beverley and Driffield should be commended for playing good football in the wet weather. Both Keepers were excellent for their respective teams. In the first half Driffield were quickest from the blocks and won many of the loose balls as the football zipped around the pitch. From goal kicks Driffield were able to progress and were winning many headers. Beverley had good spells but were unable to capitalize from set pieces. Driffield won a corner after prolonged pressure and forced an error from the Beverley defence as a clearance header beat a stranded keeper for one nil. Beverley made changes and added James Busby and Tom Bruce and this allowed the ball onto the wing. Driffield ended the half one up.
In the second half good work from Joe Wilson and Tom Bruce allowed James Busby to crash home the equalizer after the ball hit the roof of the net. Beverley then pressured and both Ollie Baldwin then Jake Holmes had chances. Dale Dennett went close for Beverley from a free kick but then after a good ball to Beverley striker Dan Baillie let the ball bounce and then hit a precision shot into the net. Rams This
was a terrific advert for U12 football.
Both teams were strong and played great football despite
persistent rain. In the
opening fifteen minutes both teams were evenly matched and the match was
end to end. Westella were
organised in midfield and made progress with clever forward balls.
Joe Hird and Will Harrison in defence for Beverley worked hard
and slowly the tide turned in favour of the Rams.
Ben Hearfield tested Westella with a long range curler but it was
Dan Baillie who scored from the edge of the area.
Beverley created more chances but Westella's keeper made some
superb saves. In the second
half Westella started strongly and had Beverley on the back foot.
Luke Salas in the centre was strong and always a threat.
Beverley re-organised and added Nick Moody whom with Dale Dennett
and James Busby began to get on top in the middle.
From A good exchange of passes between James Mooney and Dale
Dennett Dan Baillie was set up with a great forward ball by Dennett and
he lobbed the keeper to make it two nil to Beverley.

Beverley Whitestar Rams v East
Riding Rangers B (Cup) A
strong and well organised East Riding team took on Whitestar Rams in the
preliminary round of the U12 knock out cup.
In the opening quarter Beverley failed to gain any fluency in
their passing, instead it was East Riding who used a well organised
defence to play long balls that constantly lead to pressure.
Beverley’s own defence marshaled by Joe Hird and Will Harrision
coped well. Beverley
weathered the early storm and then from a good kick out by keeper Lewis
Richardson Tom Bruce beat his marker and whipped in a ball, goal bound
before being adjudged off side. Late
in the half Beverley opened the scoring when Dale Dennett scored from

Howden v
Beverley Whitestar Rams (F) Rams First Full
Squad Away Day Nets Win! Whitestar
Rams had the pick of a full squad for the first time in pre season for
this visit to Howden. In a
previous encounter the teams had been locked 1-1 in the cup quarter final
before Beverley edged it with an extra time winner.
Howden started this friendly well and put plenty of early pressure
on the back four of Will Harrison, Joe Hird, Gabriel Monteiro and Jake
Holmes. Beverley had two
injury scares and Gabriel and Will both had to be exchanged for fresh legs
within the first 15 minutes. Beverley
passed the ball well Dale Dennett and James Busby made plenty of good
chances for Ollie Baldwin and Dan Baillie to feed from. From a good move
involving passing between Tom Bruce and Ben Hearfield Busby sent a peach
ball to Dan Baillie who pushed home for 1 nil.
From a great exchange of passes on the wide right Ben Hearfield
then set Baillie in for his second. In
the second half James Weldon and James Mooney worked well from the full
back positions. Joe Wilson had
an impressive game working great passes between Nick Moody and James
Busby. From a great ball
forward Dan Baillie chipped the keeper for his hat-trick and then
Hearfield won the ball strongly from the wing to set Dale Dennett free on
the edge of area he scored well from distance.
Ollie Baldwin and Nick Moody both created further chances and were
strong for the team. Howden
had changes and Rams Keeper Lewis Richardson dealt well with the pressure.
He also distributed the ball well during the game.

Beverley Whitestar Rams v Bridlington Chiefs (Friendly) Dan’s The
Man! A
late super strike from new striker Dan Bailiee was enough to see off a
resilient Bridlington in this pre-season friendly.
An overall good team performance with plenty of strong points for
the team to build on. Rams
also gave debuts to Joe Wilson and welcomed back returning midfielder
James Busby. Rams passed the
ball well in the first spell working the ball well from keeper Lewis
Richardson onto both wings. Tom
Bruce and Joe Wilson made progress along the flanks providing chances
for Ben Hearfield and Dan Bailiee. Will
Harrison and Joe Hird had plenty to do as Bridlington found their feet
and pressed for the opener. From
a good move involving Nick Moody then James Busby Bailiee let fly from
distance his shot was parried by the keeper and Dale Dennett followed up
well to put the team ahead. Bridlington
equalized when Chris Causier placed a great shot in the top corner just
beating a well positioned keeper. The
game was then tight and both teams cancelled each other out.
James Weldon and James Mooney both had good games playing strong
performances in the full back roll.
Deep in the game Lewis pushed out a great goal kick for Nick
Moody to push on Dan Bailee scored with a lovely long volley dipping
over the keeper. Rams then
had other chances and Ollie Baldwin playing wide midfield created more
to work off. Game finished 2
– 1 to Beverley. Beverley
