Game 1

The Wolves entertained Rockford Rangers on a very cold but fine morning. Jack playing as keeper, Charlie and Austin in midfield with Callum and Fabian up front. Defenders Monte and Elliott started on the subs bench to give new signing Tom his debut game partnered with dependable all rounder Jamie. Jamie positioned again as he has in recent weeks as a defender instructed to move forward when able to give strength and support to his mid field team mates. Wolves started well with some good early play. A shot on target from Callum was well saved by the Rockford keeper followed by an equally good save by Jack from a Rockford free kick. An unfortunate mix up in the Wolves defence gave Rockford the break through first goal.0-1

A good ball from Jamie went just wide. Jack performed some good saves as the visitors continued to pressure the Wolves. Both Austin and Charlie were un lucky with shots, one well saved by the able Rockford goalie and one just wide. Some sloppy defending gave the visitors another shot to the back of the net.0-2

St Andrews 0 Beverley WhiteStar Wolves 4

Beverley WhiteStar Wolves 4 St Andrews 1

Game 1

The Wolves travelled away to play St Andrews eager to put in a good performance.

Elliott wore the goalie gloves this time, Monte and Jamie provided his defence. Jack and Charlie teamed up in midfield with striker Callum up front partnered with Fabian. Rob and Austin supported the Wolves from the side lines.

Wolves got off to a dream start with a goal straight from kick off from in form striker Callum. They continued to dominate the early play with good passing between Jamie, Callum and Charlie. Any chances St Andrews had were quickly snuffed out by some great goalkeeping by Elliott. Goal number 2 soon followed for Wolves when Fabian found the back of the net.

St Andrews tried hard but were unable to break through the solid defence of Monte and Jamie.

Half time score 2-0 to the Wolves.

The second half saw the Wolves come out with all guns blazing. A long ball from Jamie to Callum went just wide and another long ball from Charlie to Jack ended up hitting the side netting. At the other end Elliott produced another save to deny St Andrews. Goal number 3 came when Callum chipped the ball over the goalie, quickly followed by number 4 when another good corner from Jamie fell to Jack, who blasted the ball into the net. Again Elliott pulled off another great stop in goal to deny St Andrews. With a couple of minutes to go Rob was brought on to replace Fabian.

Wolves always looked in control with the game ending in a 4-0 victory.

Game 2

In the second game Jack wore the goalie gloves with Austin and Rob brought on into mid field. Monte remained in defence with Elliott joining him and Charlie went up front with Fabian. Callum and Jamie rested.

Wolves started off well again with some good football from Rob and a shot from him saved by the St Andrews goalie. St Andrews were beginning to play well with some good passing. Monte was replaced early on by Jamie after having received a knock in the 1st game. Charlie was unlucky not to score when his shot went just wide. The 1st goal eventually came when the St Andrews goalie kicked the ball out straight to Fabian who coolly lobbed it over the goalies head. Jack was called into action to deny St Andrews from a corner. Determined to get on the score sheet again Jamie produced another great strike to make the score at half time 2-0.

The second half saw Callum come on to replace Charlie up front. St Andrews battled hard to score hitting the crossbar on one occasion but couldn't break through the solid defence of Elliott and Jamie, backed up by Austin and Rob playing well together in midfield. Rob went charging off on a run up the field, passed the ball to Callum which was saved by the goalie but came back out to Fabian, whose shot went agonisingly over the bar. Goal number 3 came from another Jamie corner to Callum who produced a super header. St Andrews never gave up and finally pulled a goal back to make the score 3-1. The final goal of the match was from a goal mouth scramble between several Wolves players and St Andrews defenders. Rob managed to stick his hair in the way and the ball glanced off his head into the net!!

Final score 4-1 to the Wolves.

Hessle Sporting Tornadoes 0 Beverley WhiteStar Wolves 6

Beverley WhiteStar Wolves 2 Hessle Sporting Tornadoes 3

Game 1

The Wolves travelled to Hessle on a bright sunny morning very eager to play the first game of the second phase, now in Group 2. Currently without a keeper Jack wore the goalie gloves, Elliott providing his defence along with Jamie, playing as a defender but giving extra support to the midfield players. Austin and Robert teamed up in midfield with striker Callum up front partnered with Charlie. Fabian and Monte supported the Wolves from the side lines.

Wolves started in fantastic form and despite being unable to train for several weeks they all looked convincing. In the first half Jamie travelled up field as instructed and soon secured the first goal. This was soon followed by his lovely long shot to put the Wolves two goals in front. Elliott was absolutely solid in defence and impressed the crowd. Jack who is more than capable of defending the goal, performed really well and stopped several good efforts from Hessle. Robert and Austin both pressured well in the midfield giving energy and pace to the game.

At half time the Wolves remained in front 0-2

The second half saw the Wolves constantly pressurising Hessle with some good moves. Jamie scored the third goal and his first 2011 hat trick, following some good running to out-wit the Hessle defence. Charlie controlled the ball well and had a couple of chances including a near miss from a clever side flick. The Wolves kept up the performance and Callum coolly slotted home. Rob had some chances and yet more chances from hard working Callum followed. A nice Jamie pass to Callum and onto Rob was tapped in showing nice team work from WhiteStar and gave Rob the reward he had worked hard for. A determined Fabian joined the game giving Charlie a rest and he soon made it 6 for the Wolves. The only real threat for Wolves was some fumbling in front of the goal but they quickly cleared the ball and thoroughly deserved the 6 nil win.

0-6  Wolves win.

Game 2

In the second game Fabian wore the goalie gloves with Jack put into mid field with Charlie. Jamie, whilst giving strength and support to the mid, remained in defence with Monte and Rob went up front with Callum. Elliott and Austin rested. Hessle changed players and positions for a better chance against the Wolves and looked much more of a threat. Hessle had a number of shots at goal and Fabian made some good saves and some brilliant kicks out. Jack played some good football and had a chance at goal along with Jamie who had a shot just over. Some fumbling from Wolves in front of  the Hessle goal was eventually grabbed by the Hessle keeper. Rob made some good runs and put himself in excellent positions eager to score again. An impressive pass from Monte to Callum was easily tapped in and put the Wolves in front. Jack had a long shot that went close. This was quickly followed by another super goal for Callum. At half time the Wolves were 2 nil up.

The second half gave Jack a rest replaced by Austin in the mid. Hessle had a good chance well saved by Fabian but some confusion in front of goal gave Hessle the chance they were waiting for which was well taken. The goal gave the Hessle side renewed confidence  and they scored their second from a Wolves kick out, which went back in to hit the post and then in the net from the re bound. The level score meant game on for an energised Hessle side and soon the tiring Wolves were on the back foot. Some out of position play by Wolves gave the Hessle players an advantage and they were ready with a shot on target. Despite Fabians great attempt to keep the score level he could only get a glove to the ball and like their second goal Hessle again hammered in from the re bound. Last chance for Wolves was a nice ball from Monte up to striker Callum which went close but the Hessle defence remained strong and Wolves were unable to break through again.

2-3  Hessle win.

We must stay in our given positions and be ready to clear the re bound balls!

A very impressive first game after the Winter break. Very Well Done to all players.

Beverley WhiteStar Wolves 4  Beverley White Star Sharks 1

Game 1

In a much anticipated derby game the Wolves kicked off with Matthew in goal, Monte and Elliott in defence, Charlie, Jamie and Jack played in midfield with Callum up front.

Wolves started well scoring an early goal from a superb angled shot from Jamie. The lead was soon doubled when Charlie lobbed the keeper from range. Good defending from both Monte and Elliott kept the Sharks at bay and a third goal soon came via Callum who managed to get on the end of Jamie's fine free kick. More goals looked inevitable with plenty of strong running up front from Callum, with the midfield giving good support.

The second half saw constant pressure from the Sharks, however all the Wolves players dug in and defended well to keep the score at 3-0 by the end of the game.

Game 2

Jack, Callum and Charlie made way for Robert, Austin and Fabian to come on for the second game. Austin and Robert played in midfield Fabian going up front.

A lot of early pressure from the Sharks saw all the Wolves players pushed back into defensive mode, the Wolves however managed to work together and repel everything thrown at them. A great clearance from Elliott landed at Jamie's feet who cooly slotted it past the keeper to score the opening goal, this seemed to release the pressure and led to some fine midfield runs from both Austin and Robert aided by Callum who came on to play as a midfielder, Jamie dropping back to cover the defence, mid way through the first half. Two further goals soon came for the Wolves, the first by Callum and the second by Fabian following a goalmouth clearance by the Sharks.

In the second half both teams again started well, Monte directed to push forward played Callum in for the fourth goal following his great jinky run down the left wing. The Sharks never gave up and managed to pull a goal back through a corner which despite great play by Matthew in both games managed to sneak over the line.

Game 1

The Wolves played at Longcroft School v Molescroft Dragons on a dull, still day. Jamie recovering from injury joined Jack on the subs bench. Monte and Elliott defended for keeper Matthew, Rob and Austin played in midfield with Callum and Charlie up front.

Wolves started ok and playing downhill for the first half. There were some glimmers of good play but the Wolves were slow to get going. A Molescroft corner was intercepted by on form Monte to Austin then to Callum and then Robert showing what the Wolves can do. Callum had a few chances but the Wolves couldn’t seem to find their usual form of good passing football. Molescroft broke the deadlock which spurred on the Wolves for a short time giving Rob a couple of chances. Austin took a knock and was replaced by Jack, Jamie took the place of defender Elliott but a change of players failed to change the game. Molescroft pressured the Wolves and the Dragons were rewarded with their second goal. Determined Rob finally put Wolves on the score sheet but was injured in a clash with the Molescroft keeper so unable to perform his celebration flip to the crowd. The Wolves couldn't get to a long ball from Molescroft giving them their third goal.

The score finished 3-1 to Molescroft.

Game 2

For the second game Jamie and Austin sat on the subs bench. An early shot from Rob went to the keepers arms. The Wolves tried to find their form but were never a real threat to Molescroft. Some scrappy football was seen from both sides. The Wolves defence managed to hold the Dragons and at half time the score remained 0-0.

For the second half Rob and Charlie made way for Jamie and Austin. The Wolves and Dragons remained quite evenly matched and both sides had a few half chances. Wolves keeper Matthew made a good save keeping the team in with a chance but this only encouraged the Dragons who then upped their effort and forced the Wolves to play a defensive game. The only real threat for Wolves was from a Jamie shot which hit the side netting. The game ended 0-0.

The 2nd half started and the rain poured down!

Shots from Jamie and Rob went wide. Springhead broke away but were denied a goal by an excellent save from Matthew.

Game 2

Fabian,Callum and Monte made way for Jack, Charlie and Elliott to come on. Austin played in mid with Charlie, Rob and Jack played up front and Jamie again covered the defence with Elliott and keeper Matthew.

Rob was determined to score but his first shot was saved. He finally got his chance after a great pass from Austin , Rob hit the ball over the goalie and into the top of the net 1-1 (with his trademark flip after).

Jamie was a constant threat running up and down the pitch shooting at goal and defending his goal. Jack had some good runs taking on players and Elliott was solid in defence. Half time score was 1-1.

The 2nd half saw Rob and Austin come off to be replaced by Fabian and Callum.

The Springhead goalie was on form again saving shots from Fabian and Jamie but could do nothing after Jamie blasted a free kick towards goal and Callum flicked the ball into the net with his heel. 2-1 to the Wolves. Great teamwork from all the players kept Springhead at bay in the closing minutes and the final score was 2-1.

The Wolves travelled to  St Andrews on a fine bright morning. With keeper Matthew absent, and Jack out due to injury, Jamie played as goalie for the first match with Monte and Elliott providing his defence. Austin and Robert were in midfield with Fabian and Callum up front with Charlie as sub.

In the first half Fabian took advantage of his position up front and scored two in quick succession. Wolves were constantly pressurising St Andrews with some good moves. A great cross from Robert was flicked in by Callum 0-3 to the Wolves at half time.

In the 2nd half Charlie replaced Austin . Both teams played some good end to end football and Fabian made it 4 for WhiteStar before St Andrews scored from a 12 yard shot. The final score was 1-5 after yet another Fabian goal!

5-1 to Wolves.

Game 2

In the second game Fabian wore the goalie gloves with Rob and Jamie in mid and Charlie and Austin going up front. Striker Callum taking a break. The Wolves were unable to break the deadlock and much of the play remained in the centre of the pitch. Rob and Jamie played very well in mid field and both had a couple of chances.  Austin twice went wide.  St Andrews kept the visitors pegged back and at  half time the score remained 0-0.

Austin dropped back to mid field, Callum took his striking position and Rob, recovering from recent illness took a well deserved rest. Jamie weaved his magic in mid field, weaving through the players and went for goal. Despite a good effort by their keeper the ball went straight to the back of the net.1-0

More end to end football followed and St Andrews had several chances but Elliott and Monte saved the day.

Fabian also saved a few shots on target keeping the Wolves in front. Charlie broke on the left wing and attempted to cross to waiting Callum but then thought he'd have a try and he sliced the ball past the keeper just before the whistle blew.

2-0 to Wolves.

Game 1

The Wolves travelled to North Ferriby playing fields to take on North Ferriby Greens in their opening fixture of the season.

Matthew was the Wolves keeper with Monte and Elliott providing his defence. Jamie and Robert were in midfield with Fabian and Callum up front.

In the 1st half the Wolves took advantage of the wind behind them and the downhill slope of the pitch, constantly pressurising Ferriby. A great cross from Robert was coolly slotted in by Callum 1-0 to the Wolves at half time.

In the 2nd half Callum made it 2-0 from a Fabian pass. Ferriby pulled one back to make it 2-1. Ferriby had a great free kick superbly saved by Matthew and eventually scored again to make it 2-2. Both teams were fighting hard to win the game with good defending from Monte and Elliott, good teamwork between Jamie and Robert linking well with Fabian and Callum up front. A last gasp shot from Callum produced a great save by the Ferriby keeper.

Game 2

In the second game 3 changes were made with Jack replacing Elliott in defence, Charlie coming on in midfield for Robert and Austin coming on to play in midfield with Fabian coming off.

Ferriby had the advantage of the downhill and quickly opened the scoring. The Wolves were unable to equalise before half time despite having chances. Jamie's free kick hit the bar, Jamie's corner was headed wide by Jack and a shot from Charlie produced another great save from the Ferriby goalie. Half time score 0-1 to Ferriby.

More changes were made in the 2nd half with Elliott on for Monte and Robert on for Callum.

Matthew made another fine save as the Wolves battled to equalise. The Wolves were awarded a penalty from a corner after the Ferriby goalie pushed Robert in the back. Jamie stepped up to blast the ball home 1-1. Ferriby then took control of the game and scored another goal and a penalty to make the final score 1-3 to North Ferriby .
